Reno Police say the driver involved in a hit and run accident last month near Wilbur May Parkway turned herself in to authorities late Tuesday afternoon.

Police say 40-year-old Myree Townsend will be booked into the Washoe County Jail on a felony charge of hit and run causing substantial bodily injury.

Officers say Gabriel Kennedy was hit while skateboarding across Wilbur May Parkway, near the Center Creek Park on May 8th.

Kennedy suffered bone fractures from his clavicle to his ankle. Damage to his right leg was so severe that doctors had to remove it. He also suffered a brain hemorrhage and a collapsed lung.
