Washoe County Sheriff's Deputies say a local teen has died as a result of being struck by a drunk driver while he was riding his bicycle.

Deputies say the accident happened just after 9 p.m. Friday night on Seneca Drive near Lemmon Valley.

Investigators say a 16-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on Seneca when 51-year-old Jesse Michael Todd of Sun Valley crossed over to the wrong side of the rode and fatally struck the teen with his vehicle.

Officials say the unidentified boy was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center where he passed away as a result of his injuries.

Todd is being held in the Washoe County Jail and is charged with Driving Under the Influence Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm.

The sheriff's office asks that anyone with information related to this incident call Secret Witness at 322-4900 or the Sheriff’s M.A.I.T. Office at (775) 328-3350.
