Washoe County Reports About 17.5% of Total Voters Cast Ballots

Posted: Updated:
Washoe County Registrar of Voters, Luanne Cutler, reports about 17.5% of total voters in Washoe County cast ballots in Nevada's primary.

She says about 5.5% of those voters cast their ballots on Tuesday alone.

Washoe County Manager John Slaughter toured some polling places in Washoe County earlier today and said it was great seeing County residents participating in such an important day. “Polling places were very organized and voters are getting in and out quickly. I want to give a big thank you to each and every one of the poll workers for giving up their day to help the community get out and vote.”

Election results will not be released until after the Nevada Secretary of State approves the process. Unofficial results are expected tonight and will be posted online at www.washoecounty.us/voters.

Election updates are also available online through Twitter by following @washoecounty or #washoevote.

You can get real-time election results throughout tonight on our website at ktvn.com and on the air at the bottom of the screen on Channel 2.

We’ll have full results and live reports from both the Democratic and Republican headquarters and the registrar’s office during Channel 2 News at 11 p.m.
