RTC Seeks Public Input on Sun Valley Corridor Study

The Regional Transportation Commission is studying the Sun Valley Boulevard corridor, and members of the public are encouraged to provide their comments at two events in June.

The study area is roughly Sun Valley Boulevard from Scottsdale Road in Reno to Highland Ranch Parkway, and includes properties within about a half mile of the corridor. The study’s purpose is to identify how to better accommodate all modes of travel – by vehicle, bike and on foot.

People are invited to share their comments and ideas at two public events. The first event is a design workshop on Monday, June 23rd, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino in the upstairs banquet room. The second event, which will be an open house, will take place at the same location and time on Thursday, June 26th.

The design workshop will be hands-on, giving people an opportunity to talk with their neighbors about potential improvements and solutions for the corridor. Based on the feedback, RTC-developed alternatives for the corridor will be displayed at the open house meeting later in the week. People will also be able to comment on the alternatives, and select their preference.
