From Champagne Family Dentistry:
Champagne Family Dentistry is collecting non-perishable food items to help support St. Paul’s Community Food Pantry. Donations to families in need often drop during the hot summer months, leaving those in our community without adequate nutrition. Donations can be dropped off at 735 Sparks Blvd from now until July 31st, 2014.
The Community Food Pantry began over 8 years ago to provide emergency food to those who are in need; in the greater Reno/Sparks area. Since its inception the food pantry has grown through the dedicated service of its volunteers who log 5000 hours annually.
The economic crisis of the last several years has increased the number of those in need, and many of those served have never had to seek assistance before–reflecting the burden of lack of jobs, and rising costs of food and housing. The Community Food Pantry receives its food through a partnership with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, contributions from local grocery stores, and generous donations from individuals and families.
“We hope that the people in our community will pitch in to help those who are less fortunate. Our goal is to spread the word about the Community Food Pantry, and do as much as we can to raise awareness of the drop in food donations during the summer months” says Dr. Jason Champagne.
Champagne Family Dentistry has been a part of the Sparks community since 1976. The practice was founded by Sparks native, Larry Champagne, DMD, and is now directed by his son, Dr. Jason Champagne, DDS. The practice has grown to become the leading general and pediatric dental office serving the community and family needs of those in the Northern Nevada area.
