Reno Woman Dies at Hospital After 3-Vehicle Accident

Posted: Updated:
Reno Police say a 76-year-old Reno woman is dead after a 3-vehicle accident on Keystone Avenue near Kings Row.

The accident happened just before 6:30pm on Tuesday.

Police say the driver of a red Suzuki was in the south lane on Keystone, waiting to make a left hand turn on Kimbal Drive, when a Jeep Cherokee rear ended her. The Jeep forced the Suzuki to hit a Jaguar that was heading north.

Police say the female driver of the Suzuki was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center where she later died. They say she died from a "medical condition" but it is unclear if that was a result of the accident. Her name has not yet been released.

The other two drivers sustained minor injuries.

Officers say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.

This accident is currently being investigated by Detectives from the Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).  Anyone with information in regards to this case is urged to contact the Reno Police Department Traffic Division at 334-2141, or Secret Witness at 322-4900 or text your information to 847411 or go to www.secretwitness.com.
