From the Food Bank of Northern Nevada:

The Reno High School Art department is once again hosting an Empty Bowls event on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 5:30 - 7:30 in the Industrial Arts room #4 at Reno High School.  The proceeds from the Empty Bowls event will benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada to help feed hungry children in the area.

Participants can buy a hand-made bowl, made by one of 300 high school artists and fill it with delicious soup donated by US Foods.  The event will also feature live entertainment by the Reno High String Quartet, pottery wheel demonstrations and more.  Prices for bowls will vary from $5.00 - $20.00 and will include soup, bread and dessert.

"It is so rewarding to eat out of a bowl you KNOW helped out kids!” said Alyza Ventura, a junior at Reno High School.
