Lakes aren't the only places seeing extra visitors for the summer season.
Many in the Truckee Meadows are just getting started on some summer gardening. Rail City Garden Center says that this has been a very busy season already, and they expect it to get even busier as the summer heats up.
"People are out, they're buying a lot of plants, they're very interested in vegetable gardening, all kinds of color shrubs, they're doing a lot of work in their yard, and it's really nice," says owner Pawl Hollis.
Garden center employees say Memorial Day weekend marks the start of the summer gardening season. And barring any massive weather changes, it's a safe time to start planting more fragile plants.
