Multiple investigations in the Yerington area have ended with sizable drug busts, and landed a high-schooler in handcuffs.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division says they have completed two drug-trafficking investigations over the last three weeks, along with a K9 search at Yerington High School.

The first bust targeted methamphetamine distribution and led to the arrest of Mathew Sullivan, a Yerington resident.

Investigators say Sullivan had 13.1gg of methamphetamine in his trailer, and was delivering 1 gram to a known drug user in the area.

He has been booked into Lyon County Jail on trafficking charges.

A two-month investigation into marijuana sales in Yerington and the Mason Valley area led to a search warrant being executed on Basque Ln.

A search of a residence there netted investigators 46 ounces of marijuana, in addition to a marijuana plant and two firearms.

The two subjects at the scene, Shawn and Johnna Curl, were not arrested.

However, deputies say the pair will still face charges for possession of a controlled substance for sales, and an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Narcotic Detecting Dogs from the Douglas County and Mineral County Sheriff's Offices also recovered 1.1 ounces of marijuana at Yerington High School.

One juvenile was arrested for selling a controlled substance, and another was issued a citation. Their names have not been released.
