In honor of the men and women who have lost their lives fighting and defending our freedoms, Sparks City Hall will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014.
Additionally, Sparks Parks & Recreation will be closed including the Alf Sorensen Community Center and the Larry D. Johnson Community Center. The Sparks Municipal Court will also be closed.
The Sparks Marina and Deer Park pool will be open for swimming from May 24 through May 26. Swim hours for the Marina are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Deer pool swim hours are 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Swimming at the Marina is permitted in the designated swim area only.

All Washoe County libraries will be closed Monday, May 26, 2014. Additionally, the following libraries will also be closed Tuesday, May 27: Duncan/Traner, Incline Village, North Valleys, Northwest, Senior Center, Sierra View, South Valleys & Sparks. The Downtown Reno library and the Spanish Springs library will be open on Tuesday.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reception and front desk area will be open from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex on Ninth Street and Wells Avenue in Reno will remain open throughout the holiday from 8 a.m. to midnight for the issuance of marriage licenses, fictitious firm name and notary bond filings, as well as to accept property tax payments for the Treasurer’s Office.

Also, the Governor's Office has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and state public buildings and grounds on Memorial Day until noon.
