El Dorado Deputies Identify 4 Bodies Found in Folsom Lake

Posted: Updated:
El Dorado County, California deputies have identified four bodies found in Folsom Lake after a boating accident earlier this month.

Last Friday, State Park personnel found a body in the lake. On Saturday, they identified the body as 47-year-old James Andrew Strauch.

The same day Strauch was identified, deputies say they received a call stating another body was found floating in Folsom Lake northeast of the dam. While deputies responded to this call, California State personnel found - and recovered another body in the lake.

The two other bodies have since been identified as 54-year-old Toby Strauch and 53-year-old Gerald Jacobs. Both of the men had earlier been reported as two of the four men aboard the speed boat. Deputies found the fourth person, 48-year-old Kenneth Smith, floating in Folsom Lake Monday afternoon.

Their exact cause of deaths remain under investigation.
