Washoe County School District Gets 9 New Principals

Nine new principals have been named to Washoe County School District (WCSD) schools for the 2014-2015 school year. They will serve at six elementary schools, two middle schools, and as a consulting principal.

Two interim principals—Vicki Duty-Howard at Desert Heights Elementary School and Stacey Ting at Sparks Middle School—have been named to those posts.

Seven other principals will assume principal positions at the following schools and offices:

Ann Marie Dickson will be principal at Elmcrest Elementary School. Most recently, she served as principal at Silver Lake Elementary School.

John Sutherland is the new principal at Roy Gomm Elementary School. Previously, he served as principal at Elmcrest Elementary School.

Jason Childs will be the new principal at Lincoln Park Elementary School. Currently, he serves as principal at Virginia Palmer Elementary School.

Raegan Virgil will serve as principal at Virginia Palmer Elementary School. Most recently, she served as assistant principal at Washoe High
School.

Angela Flora will become principal at Silver Lake Elementary School. Currently, she is the principal at Lincoln Park Elementary School.

Brandon Bringhurst is the new principal at Mendive Middle School. Previously, he served as assistant principal at Reed High School.

Ken Cervantes will become a consulting principal for the Washoe County School District. Currently, he serves as principal at Billinghurst Middle School.

“These outstanding, dedicated professionals bring a tremendous amount of experience and expertise to their new positions,” said Chief School Performance Officer Paul LaMarca. “We look forward to working with each of these dedicated professionals as we move forward with the District’s strategic plan.”

During the summer months, WCSD will continue to fill open positions in schools and offices across the District.
