The Nevada Highway Patrol closed multiple lanes of U.S. 50 for several hours near the Desert Rose RV Park, after a semi-truck collided with an SUV, hospitalizing 3 people.

The accident happened just after 5 p.m. Thursday, near Fernley. NHP says a woman ran into a stop sign on Wedge Ln., puncturing a tire, before turning onto U.S. 50 heading west.

She then attempted to make a u-turn on the highway, when a semi-truck t-boned the SUV, causing the truck to roll.

The woman driving the SUV, and her two kids, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured, but thousands of gallons of paint spilled on the highway.
