USA Gold Medalist David Wise to Represent Reno Tahoe USA
From the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority:
The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority announced today that USA Gold Medalist David Wise is in Washington, DC to represent his hometown at the American Society of Association Executives Springtime Expo tomorrow, May 15.
Since he began competing as a professional in 2008, David Wise has quickly advanced to become the top Superpipe Freestyle skier in the world. Wise started skiing at Sky Tavern in Reno at the age of 3, and earned his first Superpipe victory at the 2009 World Skiing Invitational, before compiling back-to-back-to-back X Games Gold Medals, and moving on to take Gold at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
“David is an elite athlete, a distinguished family man and the epitome of what makes Reno Tahoe great,” said RSCVA President and CEO Christopher Baum. “His love for the region, his willingness to represent it, and the exemplary level at which he performs both on the slopes and in his personal life should all be commended. We are proud to have David on our team as we work to bring more conventions to this magnificent region we all call ‘home.’”
Wise will meet and take pictures with potential clients as they visit the Reno Tahoe USA booth at the ASAE Springtime Expo, discussing his journey to Olympic Gold and his affection for Northern Nevada.
“It is a privilege to be able to represent the area that I love so much, and I am excited to be partnering with the RSCVA to share our region with others from across the country,” said Wise. “Skiing has taken me all over the globe, and I can say with sincerity that Northern Nevada is truly one of the best places to live and to visit.”
The ASAE Springtime Expo is the largest one-day trade show in the meetings industry. Reno Tahoe USA will be well-represented at this event, which is attended by hundreds of the top decision-makers at trade and professional associations responsible for planning meetings and conventions.
