Chief of Staff to Former Governor Miller, Craigie, Dies at 68

A popular, longtime Nevada lobbyist and former chief of staff to former Gov. Bob Miller has died at the age of 68.
Scott Craigie was an ex-Marine known for his work as an advocate for children and families. He died Tuesday.
Gov. Brian Sandoval says Craigie was a "a remarkable man with a giant character."
He served as Miller's chief of staff from 1989-1993 and later directed Nevada's Department of Human Resources.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports ( his persona was so prominent in major policy issues during Miller's administration that some lawmakers called him "Gov. Craigie."
His cause of death has not been released. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Governor Brian Sandoval released the following statement today after learning of the death of Scott Craigie:

”It was with great sadness today that I learned of the passing of my friend Scott Craigie.  Scott was a remarkable man with a giant character, and he proudly served the citizens of Nevada in many ways.  A Marine veteran of Vietnam, Scott carried himself as a gentleman and was truly respected by his peers.  Kathleen and I would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Scott’s family and friends at this time.”
