'Hops N Grapes' Fundraiser Brings Together Chefs, Breweries, Wineries
From Draper Strategies:
On Thursday, May 22, several of the region’s most recognized chefs, wineries and breweries will come together to create a delicious and fun evening at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) to benefit Whittemore Peterson Institute for Neuro-Immune Disease (WPI). The inaugural ‘Hops N Grapes’ event, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in GSR’s Crystal Ballroom, pairs unique and tasty appetizers from chefs that include Mark Estee (Campo, Heritage and Chez Louis), Charlie Abowd (Café at Adele’s), Joel Giandalia (SoDo), and Jesus “Chuy” Gutierrez (Marichuy’s and Un Cork’d Eatery at Midtown) and dessert from GSR’s award-winning culinary team, with an amazing selection of wine and beer from Southern Wine and Spirits, Great Basin Brewery, Brasserie St. James and Brooklyn Brewery. Tickets are limited for this special event and can be purchased in advance for $40 at www.hopsngrapes2014.com or $45 at the door.
“Northern Nevada is home to the only institute in the world specifically dedicated to the study and treatment of neuro-immune diseases including chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, Gulf War illness and more,” said Annette Whittemore, founder, president and CEO of WPI. “As a way of showing our appreciation for the tremendous support we have always received from this community, we wanted to create a fun event that is more relaxed and inclusive of a wider audience than would normally be able to attend a black tie gala.”
All of the proceeds from ‘Hops N Grapes’ will support neuro-immune disease research and, in addition to great food and drinks, the event will include a silent auction and vendors representing home décor, fashion accessories, jewelry, health and wellness and more. The inaugural event is limited to 200 attendees and tickets are going fast. For more information on the event, visit www.hopsngrapes2014.com or call 775-682-8250.
