Lyon County deputies have arrested a 21-year-old man they say shot another man inside his Fernley apartment early Friday morning.

Deputies say they were called to the Village Drive apartment around 2am on the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, deputies talked with a woman who said that her boyfriend, Spencer Brown, shot an acquaintance during an argument inside their apartment.

They say Brown barricaded himself inside the apartment, but later surrendered to law enforcement without incident.

Deputies say the victim went from the apartment to a relative’s home in Fernley with a cut to his head caused by a bullet. He was taken to a Reno hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Brown remains in the Lyon County Jail and deputies say additional charges will follow.
