Police Search for Hit and Run Suspect

The Reno Police Department is looking for the driver of an SUV that hit a skateboarder, sending him to the hospital.

Reno police say the accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday night on Wilbur May Parkway near Double Diamond Parkway.

Investigators say a 24-year-old man was crossing the street on his skateboard, near a marked crosswalk, when a silver or white Honda SUV hit him and fled the scene. The driver is described as a younger white woman with blonde hair. She was last seen driving eastbound on Wilbur May.

The victim was taken by REMSA to Renown Regional Medical Center with broken bones and brain bleeding. He remains in intensive care, but is expected to survive.

If you have any information you're asked to call Reno Police at 334-COPS. You may also call Secret Witness at 322-4900 or text your tip to 847-411 with the keyword "SW."
