Sparks Seeks Input on Neighborhood Rules

Posted: Updated:
The City of Sparks is considering new rules to help clean up neighborhoods and they want to hear from residents on Tuesday night.

City officials say the recession has left its mark on many neighborhoods, as several properties have become neglected or vacant. Now, they are hoping to correct some of those problems and clean up the streets.

Some proposed amendments would make it a violation of municipal codes to have dead landscaping or exposed dirt in the yard. Another amendment would tighten up the rules on leaving inoperative cars or RV's outside homes.

Sparks is hoping to hear residents comments and concerns at a special public input hearing Tuesday night.

When: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Where: Sparks City Hall, 431 Prater Way
