From Carson Tahoe Health:

Sierra Surgery Hospital is partnering with the Shriners Hospitals for Children to provide free orthopedic screenings to children under 18. These screenings include scoliosis, foot, and ankle exams and are performed by local nurses and Dr. Michael Edmunds. Shriners clowns will be at the event to hand out balloons and entertain the visiting children. The screenings are on Saturday, May 3 from 9:00am to Noon inside Sierra Surgery Hospital at 1400 Medical Parkway Drive in Carson City.

Many children with orthopedic conditions face financial and other barriers to proper medical screenings and treatment in Northern Nevada. These clinics are designed to identify and treat these conditions at the earliest stages possible to prevent lifelong complications by providing compassionate care.

The free orthopedic screenings are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, please call Bob Pohlman, Shriners Screenings Clinic Chair, at (775) 781-3291.
