Nevada Highway Patrol says southbound U.S. 395 is back open near the Golden Valley exit after several vehicles crashed into each other early Tuesday morning.

The accident happened around 8am Tuesday within same area near the Golden Valley exit.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation reveals a 2001 white Mack cement truck was heading south in the fast lane when for unknown reasons it struck the rear of a dark colored Chevy passenger vehicle and pushed it forward into the guardrail where it continued southbound. The Chevy then sideswiped a white Nissan Versa sedan and then stopped after colliding with a black Hummer. After the Mack truck hit the Chevy, it then struck a dark gold-colored Ford SUV which forced it forward to collide with a white Nissan Murano before all vehicles came to a stop.

Immediately after that initial accident, troopers say a second accident occurred when a red motorcycle was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the cement truck. The motorcycle rider was not hurt.

Two adults and one toddler were transported to Renown Regional Medical Center with injuries. The driver of the Chevy was also treated for non-life threatening injuries along with two people inside the Hummer.

The cement truck driver was not hurt.

Southbound 395 was partially closed for four hours while troopers investigated the accident scene.

No names have been released.

Trooper Kevin Moore of the Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating this accident. Witnesses or anyone with additional information are encouraged to contact him through the NHP Dispatch Center @ (775) 687-0400 or email at kmoore@dps.state.nv.us regarding case number NHP- 140402494
