Reno Police Investigate Rollover Near Plumb, Plumas

Posted:
Reno police are investigating an accident that closed a portion of Plumb Lane near Plumas Street on Thursday afternoon.

Police say a 2001 Grand Jeep Cherokee driven by a 30-year-old woman was heading east on Plumb at Sharon Way. Witnesses reported the unidentified woman was speeding and weaving around other vehicles on the roadway. Police say she ran a red light at the intersection of Plumb and Plumas was struck by a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser. As a result of the crash, the Jeep lost its right rear tire and rolled several times. While rolling, police say the Jeep hit a parked 1994 Ford Ranger and sent it into the front yard of a home on Plumb Lane.

Police say the woman received a serious injury to her right hand so the Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and took over the investigation.

The driver of the PT Cruiser was not hurt.

The accident remains under investigation and at this time, police are unsure if the woman experienced a medical event prior to the accident.
