Race to End Domestic Violence Held at Idlewild Park
Thanks in part to our warm weather, hundreds of Northern Nevadans took a run Saturday morning for a good cause.
"There's a lot of really silly runs, but this one supports a good cause, so that's why were here," says runner Jacob Hunter.
Saturday the City of Reno held a "Race to End Domestic Violence" 5k and 10k race and walk out a Idlewild Park. $10 out of every participants registration fee for the race went straight to the Tahoe Safe Alliance - an organization working to fight domestic and sexual violence and child abuse in the North Lake Tahoe area.
Runners we spoke to said it felt good to support an important cause.
"The more events that we do, for awareness and just letting people know what resources are out there, it's very important," says Rachel Sliker.
