Posted: Updated:

California Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist suffered major injuries after hitting a truck on State Route 182 near Bridgeport Friday afternoon.

Troopers say the 61-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson south when he let his bike cross the double-yellow line hitting the left rear of a 2000 Ford F250 pickup, about 8 miles north of Bridgeport.

The unidentified motorcyclist was flown by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

There's no word on if the 50-year-old truck driver from Winnemucca suffered any injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Troopers say preliminary indications are that alcohol and/or drugs are not involved in the crash.
