Difference of Opinion Fashion Show, JA Nugget, 7pm

Paul Mitchell the School Reno will present the latest trends in hair, make-up and styles inside the JA Nugget Grand Ballroom Pavilion at 7pm. The theme of the show is different cultures merging together in new ways. Tickets start at $20. Seating is limited. Proceeds will benefit several local charities.

Reno Great American Authors Expo, Peppermill Hotel Casino

Over 100 authors, including nearly 50 local authors, will attend the Reno Great American Authors Expo at the Peppermill Hotel Casino Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Books will be on sale and authors will be available for autographs. Tickets are $5 a day or $10 for 3 days. A portion of the ticket sales will go to Cancer Awareness of Nevada.

Race to End Domestic Violence, California Building, Reno, 8am

You can help raise money and awareness about domestic violence by running or walking a 5K/10K at 9am. There will also be a Safe & Healthy Fair at Idlewild Park at 8am. Race registration is $30 and $10 for each race entry. Funds will benefit Tahoe Safe Alliance, an organization committed to helping residents in the North Lake Tahoe area, including Truckee. Record Store Day, Recycled Records in Midtown Reno, 9am

Record Store Day is an annual celebration of the unique culture of record stores nationwide, and the role they play in their communities. Recycled Records in Midtown will hold in-store live music, refreshments and art from local artists, even a re-release of a classic Recycled Records t-shirt for the store back in the '70s. Recycled Records opened in Reno in 1978. Bring a can for the Food Bank barrel and save an extra $2 off any regular CD/DVD "two-fer" purchase. Fun starts at 9am at 822 South Virginia Street.

How to Fight Alzheimer's Disease From the Garden, Moana Nursery, 10am

Holistic nutritionist, gardener and local author Dr. Michelle Deetken will discuss why gardening is a great activity to combat Alzheimer's, the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables and the best ones for northern Nevada gardens. We HeART Bikes Art Show, Reno Bike Project, 6pm  

The Reno Bike Project is hosting its 8th annual art show fundraiser at the Holland Project at 140 Vesta Street in Reno. Live music, food and drinks will be provided at the family-friendly event. Last year, over local and regional artists contributed over 100 pieces of art. Members can attend a reception at 5pm; general admission starts at 6pm. Creative and artistic vendors will attend this open air market at Reno's downtown ReTRAC Plaza, located between the Eldorado Resort Casino and Whitney Peak Hotel. Hop to Adopt This Easter, Nevada Humane Society, 11am

The Nevada Humane Society will hold an Easter adoption event starting at 11am. There will be a bounce house and refreshments. All adopters will get an Easter basket filled with goodies for kids and pets. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted. There will also be several small animals available for adoption, including rabbits, hamsters, rats and chinchillas. Rabbits are also spayed or neutered. Proceeds benefit homeless pets at NHS.
