From the Nevada Humane Society:
Spring is here and that means kitten season is underway. Each day, orphaned kittens arrive at Nevada Humane Society in desperate need of volunteer Foster Caregivers to provide them with a temporary home. How can you help? Attend our Kitten Shower on Saturday, April 26 from 12 - 4pm at the Nevada Humane Society shelter on Longley Lane.
Guests can visit with current Foster Caregivers who will share their experiences with this rewarding work or just enjoy fun activities and refreshments. Guests are also encouraged to bring gifts (kitten supplies), including:
* Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR or other kitten formula)
* Pet Heating Pads or Microwavable Heat Discs
* Nursing Kits & Bottles
* Dry & Canned (pate style) Kitten Food (avoid fish flavors)
These supplies will help care for the hundreds of kittens that are expected to arrive at the shelter this season. A Wish List for is also available specifically for kittens on Amazon.com for Nevada Humane Society at http://tinyurl.com/l98wzbp. Donations are tax deductible.
In addition, if you've ever thought about becoming a volunteer Foster Caregiver, don't miss this opportunity to learn more! Attend a special Foster Care Information Session from 2 – 3:30pm to learn how to bottle feed neonatal kittens and socialize older kittens to make them ready for adoption.
Please consider becoming a volunteer Foster Caregiver for Nevada Humane Society today and experience the fulfillment of helping save precious little lives. Applications will be available at the Kitten Shower and Foster Information Session, or you can download one from www.NevadaHumaneSociety.org.
