Inmate Dies at Carson Tahoe Hospital

The Nevada Department of Corrections says an inmate has died at Carson Tahoe Hospital of a chronic medical condition.

Authorities say Christopher Sevey died on Monday and had been recently hospitalized.

The 62-year-old man from Washoe County was serving concurrent 15 years for robbery and for kidnapping; and serving consecutive 5 years to life with parole for kidnapping, sexual assault, and for robbery with the use of a deadly weapon enhancement.

Sevey had been incarcerated with the NDOC since May 1985.

An autopsy will be conducted, and next of kin were notified.
