The Albuquerque Isotopes used three home runs and rallied around an inside-the-park home run by DiDi Gregorius to trump the Aces, 4-3, Tuesday afternoon at Aces Ballpark.

Reno used a pair of hits and an error on Albuquerque left fielder Brian Cavazos-Galvez to plate a pair of runs in the first inning.

The Isotopes answered with their first homer of the day, a solo blast from Miguel Olivo to cut the lead in half at 2-1 to start the second inning. Two innings later Clint Robinson opened the fourth with a solo homer to tie the game.

Aces shortstop DiDi Gregorius (@didg18) put Reno on top with an inside-the-park homer in the fifth. With one out in the inning, Gregorius hit a high fly ball toward the left-center wall that Joc Pederson had go off his glove as he slammed into the wall. The ball bounced away from Pederson, far enough to let Gregorius motor around the bases and slide safely into home. The home run was the first of the year for the Aces.

Pederson wasn't bothered for long as he hit Albuquerque's third solo home run of the game the following inning.

Tied at 3-3, the Aces put runners at the corners on Mike Jacobs' one-out single in the bottom of the eighth. Right-hander Yimi Garcia buckled down and struck out Alfredo Marte and Roger Kieschnick to end the threat.

It would prove costly when Cavazos-Galvez opened the ninth with a bunt single up the third base line. A sacrifice bunt from Carlos Triunfel moved Cavazos-Galvez to second. Walter Ibarra followed with a single to left that Alfredo Marte misplayed, allowing Cavazos-Galvez to trot home after stopping at third.

Andy Marte had a two-out, pinch-hit double in the ninth but the Aces failed to push the tying run across.  In all four of Reno's losses, they have brought the tying or winning run to the plate in the ninth.

Game three of the series is Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. as the Aces turn to right-hander Mike Bolsinger (@mbolsinger) (1-0, 0.00). He'll square off against right-hander Stephen Fife (0-1, 11.25) for the Isotopes.
