Washoe County School Board Approves Funds for WiFi Upgrades

The Washoe County School Board has approved more than $73 million in spending for capital projects, including $12 million to go toward updating every school in the district with wireless internet.

The board recommended the upgrades begin as soon as possible. Currently, only 8 of the district's 93 schools have wireless internet service.

Rollover bond funds will also be used to develop a prioritized list of secure perimeter improvements, single point of entry improvements, and Closed Circuit TV upgrades.
