Driver Dies After Being Thrown From Motorcycle on SR 341

Nevada Highway Patrol says a driver died after being thrown from his motorcycle near a curve on State Route 341 Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened on State Route 341 approximately two miles north of Virginia City on Sunday just before 1pm.

Troopers say 67-year-old James Edward Cooper of Fallon was driving his 2008 Harley Davidson south when he lost control near a curve. His motorcyle hit a guardrail on the west shoulder and Cooper was thrown from the motorcycle where he suffered critical injuries.

Troopers say he was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno where he later died.
