NV Energy says there are working to restore power to four customers in Fallon after a motorhome and pickup hit a power pole on Highway 50 near McLean Lane.

The accident was reported at 9:14am Monday. Troopers say a white GMC pickup was headed east on Highway 50 in the center turn lane while a motorhome pulling a white box trailer was going west. Troopers say the truck's driver was turning left onto an adjacent street into the pathway of the motorhome. The front of the motorhome struck the right side of the GMC - and both vehicles continued in a westerly direction hitting a power pole before stopping.

The driver of the GMC suffered minor injuries while the driver of the motorhome was not hurt, however, a cat riding inside the motorhome died in the accident.

The road remains closed as authorities investigate the accident. Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto McLean Lane while westbound traffic is being diverted onto Grand Avenue.

NV Energy says it restored power to 89 customers with an alternate circuit earlier today. Four customers will remain without power until both vehicles can be removed and the pole can be replaced.
