Reno Aces Press Release

4/6/14

Even with the No. 1 pitching prospect in all of baseball making his first Triple-A start, second baseman Didi Gregorius (@DidiG18) stole the show during the Reno Aces' 9-1 victory at Aces Ballpark Sunday.

Gregorius went 3-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk. He also turned in a trio of spectacular defense plays at second base.

Archie Bradley (@ArchieBradley7), the top pitching prospect in baseball and No. 5 overall prospect according to MLB.com, scattered four hits and didn't allow a run in five innings to earn his first Triple-A win. He also struck out the first Triple-A batter he faced and singled in his first Triple-A plate appearance.

Ender Inciarte (@enderdavid18) also had a big day, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs.

Mike Jacobs doubled down the right field line to drive in Gregorius to open the scoring in the bottom of the first inning. Inciarte hit a triple in the second inning that drove in two, and he scored on a throwing error by shortstop Alberto Gonzalez, who ended the game with three errors.

The Aces went on to score a run in five of the first six innings, including two in both the fourth and the fifth.

El Paso's lone run came on a solo home run by Kyle Blanks in the top of the eighth inning off of Mark Serrano.

The Aces open a new series tomorrow night against the Albuquerque Isotopes at Aces Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. with RHP Bo Schultz (@SchultzBo) starting for Reno and RHP Henry Sosa pitching for Albuquerque.
