Early Morning Structure Fire Displaces 4 in Susanville

Posted: Updated:

The Susanville Fire Department made quick work of an early morning structure fire, but not before it displaced 4 people from their home.

According to Battalion Chief James Moore, they responded to the fire around 4 a.m. Friday morning to a home on S. Fairfield Drive in Susanville.

He says 18 firefighters using 4 engines and a ladder truck were able to knock down the fire in about 20 minutes.

Moore says 4 people were inside at the time, but all of them made it out without injuries. He says the Red Cross is helping them with accommodations for them and two dogs.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
