The El Dorado Sheriff's Office reports that one Pollock Pines home has been damaged in a gas explosion on Saturday, March 29th.

According to deputies with the Sheriff's Office, at around 3:00 p.m. a man living in Pollock Pines called 911 and threatened to blow up his home. When deputies came to the 6000 block of Pony Express Trail, they heard an explosion and found one of the homes engulfed in flame.

A resident of the home was detained by law enforcement, and a second unidentified man was transported to UC Davis Medical Center to be treated for injuries he sustained in the explosion. Officials say there do not appear to be any other victims injured in the blast.

Fire personnel are still on scene attempting to contain the structure fire. Pony Express Trail is closed between 6064 and 6091 as they continue to fight the blaze. Residents are asked to stay out of the area until the fire is under control.
