Arrest Made in Downtown Reno Stabbing

Officers with the Regional Gang Unit have arrested a man involved in a stabbing at the Knitting Factory late Friday night.

They arrested 36-year-old Darrell Garrett of Reno, Monday who was booked into the Washoe County Jail.

Police say four people were stabbed during a concert at the Knitting Factory on Virginia and Second Streets. Police responded to the area just before 11:30 p.m. where they say they found four stabbing victims, three men and one woman, who had been attacked inside the venue.

All four victims were hospitalized, with one stabbing victim with life-threatening injuries, but investigators say all four are expected to make a complete recovery. One employee of the Knitting Factory was hurt during the exchange, but was not hospitalized.

The Regional Gang Unit was called in to conduct the investigation and say Garrett was responsible for the attack on the victim with the most severe injuries.

They say on Monday, they served two search warrants at two different Reno locations with the help of Reno Police SWAT. They say they found physical evidence that linked Garrett to the case.

Garrett is charged with one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and one count of battery with a deadly weapon.

They say he also faces several narcotics related charges for other evidence that they found while serving the warrants.
