Investigation Launched After Train Kills Man in Fernley

An investigation is underway after a man was fatally hit by a Union Pacific freight train in Fernley Friday afternoon.

The 2pm accident happened just north of Mesa Road, and west of Pilot Road.

A Union Pacific representative says the accident did not happen at a designated railroad crossing.

No other information was immediately available.

Channel 2 News has a crew headed to the scene right now, and will release more information as soon as it becomes available.
