Douglas County to Host Job Fair on Friday

Posted: Updated:

Douglas County is hosting a job fair on Friday, April 4th at the CVIC Hall in Minden. More than 30 employers and agencies are expected to attend.

The Carson Valley Job Opportunity Fair starts at 10:30am at CVIC, located at 1602 Esmeralda.

Denise Castle, representing Douglas County's Workforce Development Program, stresses that the key is 'opportunity.'

"I'd like to highlight that we call it a Job Opportunity Fair, because we never know what possibilities and opportunities job seekers will find there. It may be connecting with an employer of their dreams, exposure to an employment path they may not have thought of before, or finding a training program that meets their needs" says Castle. "For businesses, it's an opportunity to invest a small amount of time for exposure to several hundred individuals with whom Human Resources Professionals may not have otherwise connected."

For job seekers who attend prepared with resumes in hand, dressed professionally, and eager to build professional relationships, the possibilities are endless.

The event is a cooperative effort steered by the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Douglas County's Workforce Development Program, the Minden Tahoe Airport, and the Business Council of Douglas County, and is a key example of local efforts to mobilize the economy by linking Douglas County's qualified work force with the growing employer base.

Businesses or Services interested in reserving booth space can do so by submitting a form to www.douglascountynv.gov/jobfairexhibitor.com or by calling (775) 782-9825.
