2 Elementary Schools Evacuated After Smoke Issues Reported

Truckee Meadows Fire Protect District says Lois Allen Elementary School in Sun Valley was evacuated late Tuesday morning due to a minor electrical issue and smell of smoke.

No one was hurt, and students have since returned to class.  

Earlier in the day, school authorities evacuated Cottonwood Elementary School in Fernley after a light fixture produced some smoke.

As a precaution, students were evacuated from that building around 8am.

No one was hurt.

Students have also since returned to class.
