Battle Born Derby Demons to Hold Auction Saturday Night

Posted: Updated:

You can help out one local sports team by volunteering to take one of their members out on a date!

Every year the Battle Born Derby Demons hold a "Tough Love" auction where anyone can bid to win a date with a Derby Demon.

Auction winners get to go on a group date with derby members the following weekend - and all the money raised in the auction goes to support the team.

Team members say roller derby is more than a sport, it's a way to bring social awareness. "Being able to bring awareness about women - and women in sports, and just doing whatever we can to help our community."

Organizers say this year they plan to use the money to find a home arena for the team.

The Tough Love Battle Born Burlesque auction is Saturday at 8 pm at the Alley at 906 Victorian Avenue in Sparks. There is a $5 door cover charge.
