Red Cross Responds to Mobile Home Fire

Posted: Updated:

The American Red Cross reports that their Disaster Action Team was called to a mobile home fire on Duclercque Way in Sun Valley early on Sunday, March 16th.

Red Cross workers say the home was badly damaged, but may not be a total loss. A family of three and their two dogs were successfully evacuated from the home, and no injuries have been reported.

Though many belongings were lost in the blaze, firefighters managed to recover an undamaged wedding dress from the home. The dress will be used in an upcoming wedding in June.

The evacuated homeowners will be staying with nearby family members for the time being, the red cross is also supplying them with funding for food, lodging and baby items.

The red cross provides funding for people in crisis in part through volunteer donations. To donate, you can visit redcross.org/northernnevada, or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
