Reno Police Investigate Early Morning Burglaries

Posted: Updated:

The Reno Police Department is investigating a pair of burglaries at local businesses Thursday morning.

The first happened at the Red Hut Cafe on Lakeside Drive near Moana Lane around 1:50 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

They say the suspect may have entered through a rooftop window, and then left with an undisclosed amount of money.

They say the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie, black shorts and white shoes.

The second is a possible burglary at Hong Kong Diner on W. Peckham Lane. Police say an unknown suspect smashed a window just after 5 a.m. Thursday.

So far police do not know if anything was stolen, but say they are still reviewing evidence and are investigating it as a burglary.

Police are uncertain if these two incidents are connected.

If you have any information that could help them, you're asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4900 or you may text your tip to 847-411, keyword: SW.
