Nevada Highway Patrol troopers say a Reno driver has died of her injuries after being involved in accident late last month on Highway 395A near Andrew Lane.

Troopers say they were called out to the two-vehicle accident on February 28, 2014, around 3:30pm.

Troopers say a blue 1991 Toyota Camry driven 51-year-old Tammy D. Johnston of Reno was stopped, facing west, at the intersection of Andrew Lane at U.S. 395A. 25-year-old Ashley A. Lesco was driving north in a blue 2001 Jeep Wrangler towards the same intersection when they say Johnston failed to yield the right of way and started to turn left onto 395. The front of Lesco's Jeep struck the left side of Johnston's Camry.

Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway blocking the southbound travel lanes.

Both drivers were transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Lesco suffered minor injuries while Johnston died of her injuries on Friday, March 7 just before 4pm.

Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating this tragic accident. Witnesses can reach out to him at the Reno NHP office at (775) 689-4623, the Department of Public Safety Communications Center (775) 687-0400 or dhildebrand@dps.state.nv.us, regarding case number NHP-140202506.
