Many northern Nevadans enjoy the high desert and mountain terrain, but recreating in the Great Outdoors can be dangerous.

And that's why hundreds of highly-trained volunteers are on standby available at a moment's notice to help in emergencies.

Lieutenant Tim O'Connor with Washoe County's Search and Rescue Team can answer your questions about their efforts, their training, even how you can get involved.
