Local firefighters are going bald to show their support for children fighting a deadly disease.
"They're just true heroes in my eyes, I couldn't imagine being a child and having to battle what they deal with every day," says Randall Gates.
Today the Truckee Meadows and Incline Fire Fighters Associations teamed up with the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer foundation and St. Baldricks - and shaved their heads in support of children fighting cancer.
Families with children who have cancer were invited to come out to today's event, meet the firefighters and tour the station.
The fire Fighters associations also gave those families over $3,600 worth of food and gift cards.
Even more volunteers will be shaving their heads at the annual St. Baldrick's fundraiser on March 15th.
