Adopt a Chubby Cat or Dog at the Nevada Humane Society

From the Nevada Humane Society:

The truth is, size does matter and Nevada Humane Society feels bigger is better when it comes to adorable animals. During the Chubby Cat adoption promotion, adopt a big, adult cat for just $50—but for every pound the cat weighs, take $1 off the adoption fee! Looking for a big, adult dog? Chubby Dogs may be adopted for $50 and for each pound the dog weighs; you get a pound of dog food. That means, if you adopt a 50lb dog, you get a 50lb bag of dog food—for free! All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before being adopted, services normally costing over $240.

"Puppies, kittens, and small breed dogs are among some of the most popular animals at the shelter, but Chubby Cat and Chubby Dog are here to prove that big animals have many benefits over cute but sometimes challenging smaller animals," explains Kimberly Chandler Wade, Senior Manager of Communications and Events for Nevada Humane Society. "We invite you to come see for yourself; show these big animals your big heart by taking someone home today!"

Nevada Humane Society is located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno. The shelter is open daily for adoptions from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm and an hour earlier on Saturday at 10:00 am. For more information, call 775-856-2000 or visit www.NevadaHumaneSociety.org.
