Nevada Highway Patrol is again asking for the public's help in finding a hit-and-run driver who killed a man on U.S. Highway 50 near Stateline last August.

NHP spokesman Chuck Allen says the family requested the agency to help them with an additional public plea in finding the driver.

31-year-old Cody J. Dobson of Carson City was walking on the highway, or may have stumbled from the adjacent sidewalk before being hit by a vehicle just east of MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa around 3:15am on August 10, 2013.

Witnesses stated the vehicle that hit Dobson was possibly either a dark blue or dark green colored full-size Dodge crew cab pickup. The lower portion of the pickup was also accented with silver or grey paint.

Dobson was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe before being airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. He died nearly two weeks later on August 23rd.

"The Dobson family is pleading for anyone who may have any information about the accident leading to the death of their beloved son, brother and father to come forward. We would also like to thank those who stopped that night to help and those who have provided invaluable information. We are grateful for the amount of time and effort that has gone into this investigation and hope daily for answers that may bring closure and peace." - family spokesperson.

Troopers say alcohol was involved in the crash as Dobson's blood alcohol concentration level was over three times the legal limit when he was hit.

Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Nevada Highway Patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team has investigated this accident and exhausted all leads. The report was completed on November 18, 2013.
