Sparks Police Bust Forgery Ring

Sparks Police arrested four men and recovered dozens of fake or altered credit cars after an investigation at Scheels.

According to police, they received calls from victims in California on Sunday, who had noticed fraudulent purchases from Scheels on their credit cards.

The store's loss prevention investigated the activity and noticed, that in the two days prior to the call, a group of individuals enter their store, purchased specific products and left in similar vehicles each time.

Police say later in the day on Sunday, the same group of men entered the store, but this time the Sparks Police Department was called. Once the men exited the store, they were stopped by officers.

The four men were detained and police say they found about 30 altered or fraudulent credit cards. The credit cards appeared to be made from unsuspecting victims' credit card numbers.

The following suspects were arrested:

John Nguyen, 25 year old Sacramento, CA resident.

Thomas Vath, 32 year old Lathrop, CA resident.

Bin Pham, 27 year old Elk Grove, CA resident.

Hoang Nguyen, 30 year old Stockton, CA resident.

Police say all four were charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, uttering a forged instrument, and possession of a forged instrument. 

The total bail for each is $60,000.00.

The investigation is ongoing as further charges and additional suspects identified  are possible.
