Man in Custody After 4-Hour Standoff at Hungry Valley Home

Posted: Updated:

Authorities say a man identified as Victor Montelongo is now in custody after being wanted by the Reno Police Department in Hungry Valley on Thursday.

The home is located on Numaga Lane at the intersection of Running Deer Lane on the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony.

Officials say the Reno Police Department issued the arrest warrant and Montelongo was spotted near the residence just before 11 a.m. Thursday.

Police were called to the home and an attempt was made to get Montelongo out of the home.

Those attempts were unsuccessful and Montelongo remained in the home for several hours before authorities used some sort of gas to get him out.

Montelongo was taken to the Washoe County Jail and is being held on one charge of 1st Degree Kidnapping.
