There are a couple of ways to dine out and give back at the same time.
First off - local police, deputies and troopers will trade their handcuffs for serving trays later this week during a Tip-a-Cop event benefiting Special Olympics.
It happens this Thursday, February 27th at the Famous Dave's restaurant at 4925 Kietzke Lane in Reno.
Lunch goes from 11am-3pm - and dinner is 5pm-9pm.
Officers will serve guests and collect tips so more than 4,000 Nevada athletes can compete.
But let's say you're more of a breakfast person. If so, you can dig into a free stack of pancakes and help raise money for local kids.
Next Tuesday, March 4th is National Pancake Day.
IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer each guest a free, short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7am-10pm.
They're asking for donations of any amount -- and the money will go toward Children's Miracle Network hospitals. Local donations will benefit the children's hospital at Renown Regional Medical Center.
During last year's National Pancake Day, 4.5 million pancakes were served which resulted in $3 million in donations.
