Reno Huskies Sweep the Division I North Basketball Titles

Posted:

The Reno Huskies boys and girls basketball teams won the Division I North Championships on Saturday.

The Huskie Girls played the Bishop Manogue Miners. Reno dominated much of the game but Manogue made it interesting toward the end but ultimately came up 9 points short losing 56-47.

Both teams do advance to the Nevada State Playoffs.

On the boys side the Huskies played the Spanish Springs Cougars in what was a close back and forth game. Reno led by 3 with just seconds remaining. Spanish Springs gave the ball to their all-time leading scorer Kenny Meyer for a game tying three as time expired but it sailed to the left of the rim as the Huskies won 45-42.

Both teams do advance to the Nevada State Playoffs.
